Kae Takase joined the Renewable Energy Institute in 2023, where she leads the modeling team for energy transition. Prior to her tenure at the Institute, she was Associate Director at CDP Worldwide-Japan, where she successfully engaged companies to set Science-Based Targets (SBTs), procure renewable electricity (RE100) and disclose TCFD-aligned sustainability information.

Throughout her career, Takase has developed and used various energy and climate change models through her work, at the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan, the Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth, Center for Low Carbon Society Strategy under the the Japan Science and Technology Agency, and the University of Tokyo.  She graduated from Keio University (B.A., M.A.) and the University of Tokyo (PhD).
