Toshiya (Toshi) Nakahara is Chairman for ENEOS Xplora (formerly JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation ), a principal operating company of ENEOS Holdings, Japan’s largest energy, resources, and materials conglomerate. 

Prior to joining JX NOEX in 2021 as EVP, he was with ENEOS for thirty- eight years. He gained experience in a series of operational and managerial roles of finance, dealer operations and business development of renewable energy. He led the integration of JX Group and Tonen General Group as executive officer and head of corporate strategy. 
He was appointed director and senior executive officer for JXTG Nippon Oil and Energy Corporation in 2017, and senior executive officer of ENEOS holdings in 2020.

Outside ENEOS, he served in a variety of government and business organizations roles including a councilor of Japan Sports Agency, a chairperson of steering committee on Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games at KEIDANREN (Japan Business Federation), a board member of the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ), and a senior board member of Japan Users Association of Information Systems (JUAS).
He also served as non-executive director of Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) from April 2020 to March 2022.    

He currently serves as chairperman of Japan Energy Resources Development Association.
Nakahara earned his bachelor’s degree in commerce and management from Hitotsubashi University.
