Paul Booij is an independent technology leader, inventor and full-stack builder with 17 years of experience at the intersection of electric mobility and smart energy systems across Europe and Asia.
As co-founder and CTO of MO Batteries, he built a proprietary platform for the optimized design and operation of electric two-wheeler fleet charging and swapping networks in Southeast Asia, piloted with clients including DHL, Grab and SingPost across Singapore and Vietnam.
Prior to that, he spent a decade at TNO — one of Europe's leading research institutes — first in the Netherlands and later as Lead Scientist Smart Cities at TNO's Singapore office, where he advised the Singapore government on the electrification of its 6,000-vehicle public bus fleet.
He co-authored Singapore's national EV charging standard and holds three patents.
Through his company Optimulate, he continues to develop city-scale simulation and optimization tools for electric vehicle charging and smart energy integration. He is based in Tokyo.
