Rajeev Kumar is a highly accomplished leader in the oil and gas industry, with nearly three decades of multifaceted experience in gas marketing, operational excellence, and safety-led management. He currently serves as Chief General Manager – Marketing, Operations & Maintenance, and HSSE (Gas Business Unit) at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). In addition, he plays a key leadership role as Executive Director – Marketing & O&M at Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), a joint venture of BPCL, and is a Director on the Board of Central UP Gas Limited, further expanding his impact on India’s energy infrastructure.

Over the course of his career, Rajeev has held critical leadership roles including Territory Manager, Regional Head and State Head, before assuming his current strategic executive responsibilities. His extensive domain expertise spans across Oil & Gas  marketing, safety and sustainability frameworks, operations management and sales strategy—making him a driving force behind key initiatives in India’s energy transition.

An alumnus of the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore, with a degree in Civil Engineering, Rajeev also holds a Post Graduate qualification in General Management from the esteemed S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. Further strengthening his professional arsenal, he has pursued numerous executive and certification programs from globally reputed institutions including IIM Ahmedabad, ISB Hyderabad, Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Toronto and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. His specialized training in sustainability leadership, channel management, strategic negotiation, export processes, innovation, and intrapreneurship reflects his commitment to continuous learning and future-focused leadership.

A recognized thought leader, Rajeev has been instrumental in executing several high-impact projects that have elevated both operational standards and environmental outcomes. At the upcoming conference, he will be presenting on the forward-thinking topic: “Net Zero through In-line Turbo Expander”, highlighting how advanced operational technologies can accelerate decarbonization in urban gas distribution networks.
