Ajay Singh is senior executive advisor at Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), a leading
international shipping firm which he joined in 2020. Earlier,
as senior managing executive officer of MOL and chairman of MOL India, he
led MOL’s businesses in South Asia & the Middle East. Ajay has lived in Japan
since 2014. Between 2014-2020 he was special advisor to the chairman and
president of Japan Petroleum Exploration Co. (JAPEX), an international energy
company owned by the Government of Japan. In 2019 he launched an India-
focused green hydrogen development firm which developed a set of
prospects, and later divested them to a Japanese multinational company.
Before coming to Japan, Ajay worked at Shell between 1995-2014 –
in India and at global headquarters in London and The Hague - helping create
and manage LNG, upstream and downstream businesses in partnership with
host governments and other companies in the Middle East, Russia, West
Africa, Europe, North America and India. Ajay is an alumnus of Walchand College of Engineering,
Manchester Business School and Harvard Business School.
