Michiko Hirose is Senior General Manager of the LNG Business Department at Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd., where she is responsible for an annual LNG trade volume of approximately 11.5 mtpa to support gas and power supply to around 13 million customer accounts, primarily in the Greater Tokyo area. She also serves as Head of Tokyo LNG Tanker Co., Ltd., which operates a fleet of 12 LNG carriers.

Throughout her career, she has built broad experience across the LNG value chain, including upstream LNG investments and LNG procurement. Her career also includes secondments to Tokyo Gas Australia Pty Ltd. and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, strengthening her expertise in international energy policy and energy security. Most recently, she led the development of Tokyo Gas's renewable energy business, focusing on offshore wind. In April 2026, she returned to the LNG business to lead its next phase of growth and support the evolving role of LNG in the energy transition.
