Shigeki Kimura is Managing Director and Japan Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy (GAPP) at BlackRock. He leads the firm's public policy engagement in Japan, working closely with business, investment, legal, and strategy teams to support market development and advance BlackRock's growth objectives.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Kimura held senior leadership positions in both the public and private sectors. He served for more than 20 years with the Government of Japan, including roles at the Ministry of Finance, Cabinet Secretariat, and international financial institutions. He later served as Managing Executive Officer and Global Head of the Industry Finance Group at the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). Most recently, he was a Senior Advisor at Brookfield Asset Management and an Executive Advisor at Japan Post Investment Corporation (JPIC).

Mr. Kimura graduated from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Law and is a registered attorney.
