Catherine is head of power trading and origination for Japan at bp and representative director of bp Energy Japan KK. Based in Tokyo, she leads bp’s power and carbon businesses in Japan, with a focus on energy trading, lower carbon solutions and growing power demand. Her work covers commercial strategy, market development, trading, business development, renewable energy procurement and strategic partnerships. With more than 20 years of international experience across energy, commodities, and management consulting, Catherine has played a leading role in building and scaling bp's power businesses across Asia Pacific, including establishing power trading and origination operations in Australia and Japan. She has extensive experience structuring complex transactions across power, renewable energy, biofuels, and environmental markets, working with developers, corporate energy buyers, utilities, and policymakers to advance decarbonization and energy security. Prior to bp, Catherine was a management consultant with Oliver Wyman and holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Mechanical Engineering degree from McGill University.
