New ideas and guidelines are needed in the 'century of environment and welfare'.
In November 1965, when environmental pollution in Japan was rapidly worsening due to high economic growth, the Environmental Newspaper Company launched the 'Environmental Pollution Newspaper', the predecessor of our current newspaper, 'Environmental Newspaper'. It is published every Wednesday, and this year marks its 60th anniversary.
In 1970, in response to the trends of the times, such as the so-called 'Pollution Diet' and the launch of the former Environment Agency, the title was changed to 'Environmental Pollution Newspaper' in 1971. In 1993, the name was changed to 'Environmental Newspaper', and the paper has been published with the aim of providing appropriate reporting on globalizing environmental issues.
