Luis F. Gonzalez is the Chief Operating Officer at Aboitiz Data Innovations, where he drives the organisation’s digital transformation and the deployment of advanced AI systems in a dual role as the Chief Data & AI Officer at AboitizPower.  Luis played an advisory role in the Research and development for Blue Economy in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank.  With 28 years of experience in artificial intelligence, industrial software, and energy infrastructure, a background in Computer Science and Data Science and a passion for applied research in the AI Asia Pacific Institute focusing on Agentic AI Governance. 

Luis has worked with more than 50 utilities and industrial players across Asia Pacific, North and South America, Europe, and the Middle East. Luis worked focusing on Japan while he was in GE in the energy contestability of Japan energy sector and actively collaborates with JERA from within Aboitiz Power focusing on Flexible and Resilient Energy Operations, asset intelligence, commodity trading, energy market intelligence and digital twins. 

Luis is a co-founder of the AI Asia Pacific Institute, a not-for-profit dedicated to ethical AI adoption, and a guest lecturer at Nanyang Technological University’s Advanced Education in the Energy Transition and Smart Cities Program. Recognised as a thought leader in AI-driven energy transformation, he speaks at global conferences on  future energy demand and AI Critical Infrastructure integration with Power Utilities.  Originally from Canada and now based in Singapore, Luis is committed to advancing technologies that strengthen trust, transparency, and fairness in the Energy and AI ecosystem.
