In 2024, Naoki Shigetakewas appointed as Chief Operating Officer of GX Acceleration Agency (GXA). He also serves as a member of the Japanese government’s GX Execution Committee chaired by Prime Minister, contributing to national policy development for decarbonization and economic growth.

Shigetakebegan his career at Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in 1982 after graduating from WasedaUniversity with a degree in Political Science and Economics. In 1992, he earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and joined Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he held various leadership roles. He served as Managing Director and Senior Partner until June 2024.

With more than four decades of experience in global business and strategy, Shigetakebrings deep expertise to his current role, where he leads efforts to accelerate Japan’s green transformation and foster collaboration between industry and government.
