Aydar Shakirov has worked at the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Secretariat since 2017.

The GECF is an intergovernmental organization, headquartered in Doha, Qatar, that provides a framework for exchanging experience and information among its members. It gathers 11 member countries and 8 observer countries. Together, the GECF countries represent 72% of the global proven gas reserves, 43% of the global gas marketed production, and over 50% of global gas exports in the form of pipeline gas and LNG.

The principal mission of the Gas Market Analysis Department at the GECF is to monitor and analyze gas market developments in the short term, with a special focus on gas consumption, gas production, pipeline gas and LNG trade, gas storage, gas prices and pricing mechanisms, energy policies, and dynamics of competing fuels.
