After graduating from the University of Tokyo with a master's degree in Applied Chemistry in 1999, Shimanuki joined Mobil Corporation in Japan (currently ENEOS Corporation), one of the leading oil companies in Japan, as a sales representative at lubricants division. Over 20 years’ experience at the company for business development, sales, marketing, customer service, operations, secretary office, supply an d trading, and
manufacturing at a refinery including an overseas assignment in Singapore.
From 2019 thru 2022, Shimanuki was taking a lead of start up investments as a Group Manager of ENEOS Corporate Venture Capital.
Since 2022 April Shimanuki has been in charge of Hydrogen Business, as Deputy General Manager.
