Ryutaro Nakayama is Deputy Director of Environmental Economy Office of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

He is working on carbon pricing policies, including establishment of the national carbon credit exchange and founding Green Transformation League which is a voluntary initiative for emission trade by private companies who commit ambitious GHG emission reduction targets.

Before joining Environmental Economy Office, he was working for Agency for Natural Resources and Energy where he worked on energy efficiency policy.
