Nishant currently serves as Deputy General Manager (Strategy Planning and Risk Management) at NTPC Limited, working on strategic initiatives in India's largest power utility.

Nishant Kumar Sharma stands out as a dynamic leader in the global energy space, with remarkable contributions across both professional and academic arenas. He is a member of two prestigious international boards of the World Energy Council (WEC). Since 2021, he has represented India on the Future Energy Leaders Board of WEC and, as of 2024, serves as the sole Indian member of the WEC Studies Committee.

He is also a speaker at international forums, including the World Energy Congress 2024 in Rotterdam and the Executive Business Committee Meeting of the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris. Through these platforms, Nishant has shared his insights on energy transition, net zero and sustainability.

Academically, Nishant has excelled with an Executive MBA in Finance from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. His exceptional performance earned him the Scholar of Excellence and Dean’s List awards. Additionally, he holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Renewable Energy from TERI University and a Diploma in Business and Corporate Law from SCDL.
